ESL Elementary classes are designed for students 7 to 12 years old. These courses introduce young learners to reading and writing. The vocabulary covered at this level is useful for everyday situations such as going to school, going shopping, eating and talking about family. This is the first course that has an emphasis on spelling and handwriting. The students also utilize a graphic reader and short stories to assist them in learning to read as well as develop comprehension skills. The children will also be introduced to grammar at this stage and start to memorize English grammar rules. There will be a heavy amount of grammar practice at this level and evaluations will become necessary to assess student's progress and needs.
